Oh, well, it certainly sounds like something I'd be familiar with.

[ Saucy. Tim must know how that sounds. ]

I thought it might be. [ Hah. Unspoken jokes. ] I've acquired all the legal nonsense to do with a local building in the middle of the Quarantine's pleasure district, it's been getting a facelift this past week and I need to hire staff. Moreover, I need to hire a sensible sort of manager who will hire said staff.

After our talk, you came to mind immediately.

{Tim hums and Loki can probably hear his fingers going a mile a minute on a keyboard.}

I'm flattered. You want someone to do the tedious parts while you have all the fun, right?

{ There's no judgement in his voice, just amusement. He's good at tedious things. And they aren't so tedious to him.}

Pretty much. [ Pure honesty for Tim!! Loki really isn't sure who else he could ask this of. Another laugh peels down the line, this one more self-deprecating. ] I fear I haven't the, ah, attention span to keep up to date on formalities.

[ His purview as a god isn't Mad Organisational Skills. ]

{It's not as challenging or rewarding as invention, but it would present it's own challenges and working with Loki would be interesting, he's sure.}

Yes, please. I'd like to know what I'm getting into. What sort of hours are you thinking? Food, drink? Entertainment? How much staff?

{It's like he's got the beginnings of a checklist in front of him.}

[ Creating new intrigues and inventive situations is what Loki craves, thirsting for inspiration the whole while he had Trix kitted out, visualising its possibilities ... but now, looking at it fully-realised and empty, he feels unanchored. Like his tether has been cut.

That's where Tim will come in, he hopes, enthused by all the questions as he sends over the pics. Loki has made the right choice, he's increasingly sure of it. ]

Entry is on ground-level into the bar-come-lounge where I want a breakfast menu served twenty-four-seven. You can go down into the club or VIPs get to head upstairs to the fancier suite with its own amenities. How many staff do you think it would need?

{Tim flips through the pictures and is impressed. It's a very different kind of establishment. In a regular city at home he'd say it needed to pick one, club or breakfast bar, but with such a diverse population where they currently were, he thinks it could very well pull off being both.}

Breakfast 24/7 sounds delicious. Are you thinking diner style or Food Network competition style breakfast?

{He makes notes of things to bring up later as he thinks of them and keeps going on the current topic.}

I would suggest limiting the club hours, if not the V.I.P. lounge hours, too, at first until you see how well the whole set up does. It may simply not be busy enough to keep all three areas open 24/7. {He hums thoughtfully.} For staff....at minimum with everything up and running, two cooks, two waitstaff, a bartender behind each bar counter, a VIP attendant, two on music and lights, plus the two of us filling in as needed. As a conservative not very busy, but a small steady stream of guests guesstimate.

{He catches himself.}

And oh, potentially a couple of bouncers depending on how attentive to security you want to be personally.

Oh, sure, limit the rest, [ sounds by his tone like he could be waving a hand, ] I doubt anyone will want to rock out at two in the afternoon.

[ They're welcome to go headbanging at such a weird hour if it's really their yen but some noise-cancelling wards are in place to deal with that. Nobody wants to hear Skrillex over brunch. No one. ]

Diner-style, and I already have an idea for a bouncer; a necromancer with the ability to summon the undead as extra muscle. Do you know Nico di Angelo, by any chance?

Exactly. And there's no point wasting revenue. We may even want to look into a different day time activity to use the space for eventually.

{Tim's nodding and making more notes to himself.} Diner style will be easy to find cooks for, and ingredients.

{He pauses and considers the benefits of having a necromatic bouncer.}

I haven't had the pleasure. Are these undead actively rotting when summoned? I'm not sure what the health code is like around here, but that may be a problem.

{He is infinitely practical.}

[ Sweet Tim. ]

I was thinking the rot was a bonus, actually. Terrify the rowdier custom into behaving or, watch out! Zombie tongue in your ear. [ The imagery of which alone is wonderful, you must admit. ] Anyone who attends a club owned by me won't be expecting the strictest of moral standards when it comes to contracted corpses, Tim, worry not too much on that particular note.

{Tim frowns.}

Loose morals is no excuse for infecting your clientele and fare or being unsanitary.

{He won't work for you if you're not going to take your guests comfort and health seriously.}

[ Gross, what an unfairly strong word. ]

Mmmm ... I've seen Nico control skeletons, perhaps he'll entreat those for help instead.

That would be preferable. Less gross out for our eating and drink patrons, but the ominous clicking of their bones could still serve as a disturbing deterrent to unwanted intruders.

{ Tim is pretty sure he's going to have to exaggerate to get his points across.}

Okay, but at Halloween-y types of events, I get the full monty.

On the condition that you ward the food preparation and service areas against disease yourself, or hire someone else to.

{ See, look, Tim's not unreasonable. He can negotiate.}

I never said I wouldn't!

[ Never said he would, either, but all the same he exercises his right to sound scandalised at the thought he isn't thinking about anyone else's welfare. ]

So, you'll do it? Be my right-hand manager?

But it hadn't occurred to you to do so yet, either.

{ He's catching on fast, Loki.}

Sure, I'm in. Provided you don't tune me out and override sensible things entirely. I'll try not to be too much of a wet blanket in return.

{ It wasn't like he was sleeping anyway, and his classes weren't all that challenging. He couldn't even stay in the R&D labs over time because of his part time status.}

[ No vocal answer is given to Tim's observations, though they twitch a smile in the corner of Loki's lips. ]

You're exactly what I need, Timmy. I trust you.
